Access Wellness is a free single-session supportive counselling service for individuals (18 years and older), couples or families. Sessions can be held over the phone, online with video, or in-person. People can speak with a qualified professional and learn strategies to help confidently address challenges they are facing. This service focuses on challenges/concerns that can be resolved in a short term/single session. Counsellors can also provide information about other services that can help, including the Nova Scotia Central Intake Service for additional assessment and treatment matching. We increase knowledge about sexual health and substance use, we build the capacity of service providers to deliver prevention, testing and treatment services, and we promote policies and programs proven to work based on research, practice and lived experience.
Choice Connect helps you find your nearest abortion provider based on your needs. The app features detailed referral information for more than 150 abortion providers and clinics across Canada. The web app is anonymous and free to use.

HEAL NS, or the Health Equity Alliance of Nova Scotia, is an organization focused on supporting the health and well-being of the 2SLGBTQ+ community in Nova Scotia. It aims to address health equity and reduce stigma related to HIV/AIDS and other health challenges faced by this community. HEAL NS has launched a new tool called Check Me Out, which helps individuals generate personalized sexual health checklists and routine testing schedules. The organization also provides resources and information on sexual health, STIs, and HIV prevention.

Based in Sheet Harbour, Nova Scotia, we serve rural communities with unique challenges that benefit from the gender-based and rural lenses that inform our work.
The Old School Community Gathering Place is a well-established, long-time cornerstone of the Eastern Shore region spanning from Lake Echo/East Lawrencetown east to Ecum Secum and north to Middle and Upper Musquodoboit Valley. We provide support and accessible programming to an intergenerational audience such as a federally funded youth employment program, housing support, weekly community meals, a food pantry, a community garden, Fiber Friends and a dance therapy program for seniors. The ROSE (Reproductive Options & Services) Clinic performs procedural abortions, medical abortions and provides education and counseling to those seeking support for reproductive care. It is based at the Victoria General site of the QEII Health Sciences Centre in Halifax. There is a provincial self referral line (1-833-352-0719) for information about accessing medical and surgical abortions at the QEII or with other providers. You can work with the referral line to learn more about accessing services that best suit your needs.
